Jack & Jill 101 (New Members) - Welcome to Membership in Jack & Jill!  This is the opportunity to learn about the premier African American family organization. The session will provide a review of the organizational structure, governance, as well as the members' responsibilities.  You will find the keys to getting the most of your Jack & Jill experience. This session is targeted to new members.

Associates Meeting - This session will provide an opportunity for Associates to discuss the 2022-2023 program year plans.  This is also an opportunity for new Associates to gain insights on the working collaboration between chapters and the Associates Group, governing documents and strategic plans for the South Central Region Associates’ Groups.

SCR Learning Institute:
Membership Immersion - Become an engaged and informed member.  This workshop will provide an intense immersion in Jack and Jill.  This is the opportunity to grow in knowledge and become astute in matters such as chapter operations, governance, financial matters and protocol.  The workshop is open to all members.

Leadership Workshop - So, you want to be a leader! This workshop will provide an advanced training opportunity in Jack and Jill leadership.  This class will build on future leadership training opportunities and will become prerequisites for Regional and National leadership academies. The workshop is members interested in Jack and Jill Chapter, Region, or National leadership.

8:00 PM - 9:15 PM“The Power of One” Town Hall

“The Power of One” Town Hall – The town hall discussion will focus on the importance of voting, while incorporating The Crown Act as an example of what happens when we vote and have representation in our legislative process.  Come and here the panelists share why the Black vote is incredibly important in this upcoming election and the opportunity to build Black political power at every level of the ballot. The town hall is designed for all teens, mothers and associates

In current times, the role of the Chapter Chaplain has increased and is ever more important. Preparing inspiration with intention, purpose and focus helps develop chapter members spiritually, mentally, personally and professionally. In this session, topics will include the role of the chaplain, support to the Executive Board, being a servant leader in the chapter and overall spiritual preparedness.  This session is targeted to chaplains.

10:15 AM - 11:45 AMEquipping Teen Leadership Excellence

The Lead Teen Sponsor role is critical to teen leadership and development. This session will provide insights on the roles and responsibilities of the Lead Teen Sponsor and their work throughout the program year. Topics include programming, financial and leadership modules, teen chapter meetings, foundation projects, teen conferences and more.  This session is targeted to lead teen sponsors. 

10:15 AM - 11:45 AMEquipping Governance Excellence

Learn how to operate within governance. This workshop will review Jack and Jill governing documents and templates, highlighting the accepted bylaw amendments that passed in 2022, along with the updated bylaws and policies/procedures templates. This session is open to all members.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from stress, adversity, failure, challenges, or even trauma.  It's not something that kids either have or don't have; it's a skill that kids develop as they grow.  Learn how you can help develop and instill resilience in children.

Community Service is one of the pillars of our organization and one of the ways we can impact the communities we serve.  Let’s join together to explore and benchmark opportunities to strengthen our footprint in the local, regional and national communities. Come prepared to engage and get back to the basics with Community Service at the forefront of our chapter initiatives.  This session is targeted to community service chairs.

Every Member Matters!  When members are engaged, members are more likely to be retained.  This session will discuss best practices for member engagement, retention and sustainment to ensure chapter success. In addition, the New Member Intake Process and Digital Cheetah operations will be reviewed.  This session is open to all members.

Financial Officers Training (Part 1) - Mandatory Training for Financial Officers to get training on the online version of QuickBooks.  The training will include the basics on financial accounting and reporting.

Experience a spirit of adventure aboard the newest vessel to the French Quarter riverfront, the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS as she takes you on a journey down the mighty Mississippi as the joyful tunes of traditional jazz carries you down the river. Lunch is included in this unique big easy experience.

Jack and Jill values proper etiquette and always seeks to operate within protocol. Learn how to be Protocol Perfect, the Jack and Jill way. This session provides and overview of the basic protocol practices, principles and procedures of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. Protocol is easy to follow when you understand the basics and why it matters.  This session is targeted to chapter protocol chairs.

1:45 PM - 3:00 PMEquipping Programming Excellence

Programming is the "heart" of Jack and Jill. This session focuses on the National and Regional programming thrusts. In addition, the 2022-2023 programming priorities will be reviewed and preparation towards program handbook submissions. Program directors will not want to miss this informative workshop!

1:45 PM - 3:00 PMEquipping Chaperoning Excellence

Be the first to complete Chaperone Training for the 2023 South Central Regional Teen Conference. The Regional Teen Advisors will review all the necessary guidelines and protocols required to be a certified chaperone. To receive certification, attendees will need to successfully pass the chaperone training quiz, which will be issued at that end of the training. This certification is good for TWO YEARS!

1:45 PM - 3:00 PMEquipping Strategic Excellence

All chapters should have a strategic plan.  Chapters must assess where they are today and have a vision for where they want to be tomorrow.  This session will provide the tools and templates for the chapter strategic plan and the process for developing the strategic plan.  This session is targeted to chapter executive board members.

1:45 PM - 3:00 PMEquipping Foundation Excellence

What are the elements of a winning foundation proposal? Increase your skills and winning opportunities for a foundation grant.  Learn what winning grantees are doing and what the evaluators want to see.  Join the conversation on how to position your chapter to become a foundation grant awardee.  This session is targeted to foundation and fundraising chairs.
