Get ready to hear from our Regional and National Officers. The general assembly will prepare us for the program year ahead and opportunities for members to stay engaged and informed. This session is for all attendees.
10:15 AM - 11:15 AMKEYNOTE SESSION THE SISTERHOOD RESET: My Sister’s Keeper

I AM MY SISTER’S KEEPER! In this session, attendees will learn how to support, encourage and empower each other to do the important work of Jack & Jill alongside one another. Back by popular demand, Life Strategist Pamela Benson Owens will share essential strategies on how to show up with intentionality, bring our best selves to the table and how to get the most out of the Jack & Jill journey. This session is for all attendees.

The Lead Teen Sponsor role is critical to teen leadership and development. This session will provide insights on the roles and responsibilities of the Lead Teen Sponsor and their work throughout the program year. Topics include programming, financial and leadership modules, teen chapter meetings, foundation projects, teen conferences and more.  This session is targeted to lead teen sponsors.

This session will truly be a TECH TALK. In this new virtual world, our technology matters more than ever. In this session, the technology experts will discuss chapter best practices regarding technology tools and resources for virtual meeting platforms, chapter websites and much more. Does your chapter have good chapter bylaws? This session will provide an overview of good chapter bylaw and discuss the process for changes/revisions. In addition, with the upcoming National Bylaws submission process fast approaching, attendees will have the opportunity to discuss any potential bylaw Dianne Livings National Bylaws Chair revisions. You are encouraged to bring any bylaws submissions for group discussion. This session is targeted to Parliamentarians and Bylaws Chairs.

In current times, the role of the Chapter Chaplain has increased and is ever more important. Preparing inspiration with intention, purpose and focus helps develop chapter members spiritually, mentally, personally and professionally. In this session, topics will include the role of the chaplain, support to the Executive Board, being a servant leader in the chapter and overall spiritual preparedness. This session is targeted to chaplains.

Learn all the financial tools of the trade for financial excellence and compliance. This session will provide an overview of the functions and features of QuickBooks and Right Networks, including a standardized chart of accounts, invoicing, and monthly reporting requirements. In addition, the workshop will focus on what financial officers need to do to get their chapter members’ Five Star ready. This session is targeted to chapter financial officers.

Self-care is the process of taking care of ourselves in ways that promote health and wellbeing. As African American women, we must take our health and wellbeing seriously. From physical fitness to mindfulness, our bodies, minds and souls may need a tune-up, from time to time. Learn how to incorporate self-care techniques into your lifestyle. This session will offer tips and resources to become “whole” mind, body and soul.

This session provides and overview of the basic protocol practices, principles and procedures of Jack and Jill Tracy Slaughter Holmes Regional Protocol Chair of America, Incorporated. Protocol is easy to follow when you understand the basics and why it matters.

Managing communication and correspondence is essential. In this session, chapter secretaries will understand the importance of their roles as the "master of communication." Learn best practices for all things related to communication – minutes, chapter contact databases, timely correspondence and other duties as assigned. This session is targeted to Chapter Recording Secretaries and Corresponding Secretaries.

2:30 PM - 3:45 PMBack to Basics: Chaperone Training

Be the first to complete Chaperone Training for the 2022 South Central Regional Teen Conference. The Regional Teen Advisors will review all the necessary guidelines and protocols required to be a certified chaperone. To receive certification, attendees will need to successfully pass the chaperone training quiz, which will be issued at that end of the training. This certification is good for TWO YEARS!
