Guanacaste has an abundance of edible leaves and roots in its forests and fields. During this cooking classes you will not only honor the traditions of Guanacaste but also have a lesser impact on the fragility of our planet, since all the ingredients that you will use are cultivate in the same property´s gardens.
The philosophy of this activity is: "you are what you eat"; therefore eating responsibly and healthily provides better mental and physical health. This class screens the dishes meticulously to respond to this criteria:
Low Carbon Food Print or in other words, all ingredients are grown as much as possible in Costa Rica. Most of the fruits and vegetables are organically grown in the gardens of the property. Whatever they cannot produce they try to purchase from the own local providers. This means almost all of the vegetables and fruits are produced locally, in Guanacaste.
They avoid using processed ingredients and thus have a better insight in the healthy ingredients of each dish. By limiting the use of prepared shipped items, they limit the amount of wasteful packaging.
The owners want the guests to experience and benefit directly from the life energy provided by the ingredients that will be use to cook with and to create a truly recognition and respect for every single ingredient they put into their mouths, whether it is an animal, a vegetable, a wild herb or leaf.
In line with our philosophy, their wine list consists only of organic and biodynamic wines. This is highly appreciated by the participants and is often an opening for an interesting exchange.
Chef will prepare food in front of participants, and they will be invited to prepare their own drinks and appetizers. Then, they will share the recipes with each of the guests!

Costa Rica fishing is something that needs to be experienced to be believed. The country’s glassy blue waters are home to over 200 different IGFA records, with 22 for Billfish alone. The locals struggle to remember a year without at least three Super Grand Slams reported, meaning that Sailfish, Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, were all caught on the same day, by the same boat.
With hundreds of miles of coastline, the Guanacaste region offers spectacular fishing options in Costa Rica. It is truly a heaven for deep-sea anglers who wish to experience fishing in a completely different way: sport fishing. Sport fishing is very sustainable compared to other kinds of fishing thanks to the low-impact, highly selective catching gear used and the high survival rate of the fish released.
Local knowledge very important to a successful Costa Rica sport fishing trip. That is why we assure that all anglers will be fishing with the most experienced crew. They will go a trip with the best local captains because they are good at catching fish in their waters. But not only is this a country where participants can make a realistic attempt at catching a record Billfish, it is also made up of a web of some of the most diverse and untouched fresh waterways on the planet.
Whether they are looking for epic Billfish action or a serious addition to their lifetime fish species count, Costa Rica fishing charters should be right at the top of their sportfishing bucket list. There is no doubt that the Pacific coast is the perfect area to go sport fishing while they are in Costa Rica. They will easily fish Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Roosterfish, and Tuna. They can also find great Snapper, Snook, and Mackerel fishing there as well.
