"Crowning Confidence: Care + Connection” Project
Theme: “Serve with Purpose. Impact with Heart.”
This year, our FWR Teens will have an amazing opportunity to make an impact in the community with a multi-faceted focus on community service, self confidence, legislative advocacy with the “Crowning Confidence: Care+Connection” project.
We are thrilled to partner with the Founder and Executive Director Danielle Townshend of Curls, Coils, & Crowns nonprofit organization and our FWR Legislative Team on this IMPACT project. Our collective efforts will promote self-awareness and confidence among our teens while advocating for the Crown Act/Crown Coalition initiative which originated in California under then State Senator Holly J. Mitchell in 2019.
All registered teens will actively participate in inclusive activities that will elevate their self-esteem and confidence, empower their voice to advocate for relevant issues, and engage with their fellow peers while giving back to African American youth in the local community.
Serve with Purpose
TLC Community Service - Curated CROWN Kits Regional Teen Foundation Chair Makaela Brown will lead our teens in a meaningful service project to create curated natural hair care kits for African American families and Curls, Coils, & Crowns nonprofit organization.
