Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, the first Haitian American Democrat elected to Congress, was re-elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in January 2023 to serve a second term. She proudly represents Florida's 20th Congressional District.

Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick is honored to serve on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs as the Ranking Member of Technology Modernization. She is also Vice Chair of Diversity & Inclusion for the Democratic Women's Caucus and serves as a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, Haitian Caucus, and the Caribbean Caucus.

Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Howard University. In further pursuit of education, the Congresswoman earned her Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University.

Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick is leading the fight as she works to create economic opportunity, fix the housing crisis, save our families, provide for veterans, and protect our seniors. As a leading Democratic voice in Congress, she vows to be a voice for the voiceless.
