Miesha S. Darrough is currently a Miami-Dade County Court Civil Judge serving at the Dade County Courthouse. She presides over cases involving contract disputes, landlord and tenant issues, small claims and debt collection, auto negligence, and condominium and personal injury protection.

Prior to her appointment, Judge Darrough was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Judge Darrough worked for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. During her time at the State Attorney’s Office, she served as a Felony Division Chief where she trained and supervised over twenty-five division attorneys and prosecuted hundreds of cases including numerous homicide cases.
Judge Darrough also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami Law School and as a visiting faculty member for Harvard Law School’s Trial Advocacy Program. Additionally, Judge Darrough is a proud graduate of Howard University School of Business and Howard University School of Law.

Judge Darrough has also been very involved in the legal profession and her community. She is a Founding Member (2014) and former President of the National Black Prosecutor’s Association- South Florida Chapter (2016- 18), She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Gamma Zeta Omega Chapter, the Dade County (FL) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, and Howard University Alumni Club. Furthermore, she has served on the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee, and currently serves on the Miami-Dade County Canvassing Board and the Florida Bar's Standing Committee on Professionalism and Federal Court Practice Committee. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors for Embrace Girls Foundation where she works with young girls to empower them by helping to improve their self-esteem, academic record, and social skills. She also serves on the Board of Directors for OIC of South Florida where she is responsible for policymaking for a multi-million-dollar budget that is used to provide programs, classes, and professional skills that help returning citizens to successfully transition back into society.
