REGIONAL TEEN PRESIDENT WELCOME
Greetings, Teens of the Mighty Mid-Western Region!
I am Cole Reed, your Regional Teen President and I hail from the Incredible Indianapolis Chapter. It is my honor to welcome you to this year’s Teen Leadership Conference at Western Michigan University in the charming city of Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Regional Teen Officers and I have put our hearts and souls into creating a special and distinct TLC for the ages! This year’s theme is Empowerment Through Unity: Stronger Together.
During TLC as a collective, we will come together to unify, rise above the many challenges and obstacles we face, and grow stronger together in the face of adversity. For years, our communities have been plagued by divisive factors, including colorism, classism, and many others that were planted within our circles. However, as future leaders, we have a responsibility to close these gaps, hold hands with our brothers and sisters, and face hardships head-on. Our generation will come together for a greater cause, building a legacy of unity, strength, and impact that will inspire those to come.
The Community Impact Event is always an important aspect of my TLC experience. To support this year's community service focus, “Transforming Communities Through STEAM, Art for All,” we are partnering with the Semi-Foundation and Helen Fox Music Center to provide music and art supplies to underrepresented youth, ensuring they too can explore creativity and discover their own talents.
As you know this is my last TLC before I graduate from Jack and Jill, and looking back, I can’t help but reminisce on some of my favorite moments from TLC. The signature event with my friends, acting on stage during skits, seeing the seniors at their gala, and even learning and trying new things at the Olympics and legislative events. This TLC, make sure you connect with those around you and those close to you, so that, like me, you too can look back fondly on your past TLC experiences. I promise you, it will be a TLC you do not want to miss! I’m looking forward to connecting with you in Michigan!
Yours in service,
Cole Reed
