Things to Know Before You Register

Prior to registering, please take a moment to read information regarding the event

The registration fee for all Mothers, Associates and Fathers is $350 per person. Children (ages 2 and up) and Teens are $300 each.

  • Friday Reception (Heavy hors d'oeuvres)
  • Brunch and Boxed Lunch on Saturday
  • Washington, DC Cultural Excursions on Saturday
  • Transportation to excursions that require buses and Sunday worship
  • Teen Party
  • Event shirt and souvenir

What is NOT included:

  • Hotel accommodations
  • Airport transfer/shuttles
  • Childcare/babysitting services

The 85th Founders' Day Event is open to all active mothers, associates, fathers, teens, and children. Mothers cannot be on a leave of absence.  

Children and Teens must be accompanied by a registered adult. There will be a teen party with adult supervision, but for all other events, you or a designated adult must be present and with the child/teen at events.

No, there is not ala carte pricing. Even if you chose not to attend a portion of the event, the cost is the same.

We know that circumstances can change, but unfortunately, there are no refunds, no exceptions. However, substitutions are permitted until Janaury 15, 2023 by submitting the Substitution Form.  All monetary transactions are between the two mothers.

The host hotel is the JW Marriott Washington, DC and the JJOA rate is $259 per night plus tax. Upon successful completion of your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to secure your hotel lodging. The deadline to book a room at this rate is 6:00pm EST on Friday, December 29, 2023, You must be registered to reserve a room in the JJOA block. The rate is valid from Wednesday, January 25 to Tuesday, January 31, subject to hotel availability. Jack and Jill of America, Inc. has the right to cancel any reservations that it feels are not valid or that exceed the reasonable number of rooms needed based on the registrants in a family.

It is not required to stay at the JW Marriott, however, pick up for all offsite events will be from the JW Marriott.

DCA (Reagan National)  is the preferred and closest airport, followed by IAD (Dulles). BWI (Baltimore) is 50 minutes away.

The 85th Founders' Day will be a great weekend to celebrate with mothers from across the country or a great family experience. There will be something for everyone to include excursions in the DC area.  To see the overall agenda, go to Founders' Day Agenda

You will need to select your excursion during the registration process. When registering a child or teen, another regsitered adult must accompany them. If you decide later that you want to change your selection, send an email to support@viprllc.com no later than December 15th and if there is availability, you will be accommodated.  All excursions include a boxed lunch.

Excursion 1--Howard University Tour:  Join an informative tour of Howard Univerity led by a JJOA Alum followed by a panel disussion.

Excursion 2--African American Heritage Tour;  Your guided bus tour guide provides interesting facts, funny stories, and an overall educational and good time. The tour will stop at the following locations:

Carter G. Woodson Home
Mary M. Bethune Home
Lincoln Memorial
Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial

Excursion 3--African American Cultural Tour:  Your guided bus tour guide provides interesting facts, funny stories, and an overall educational and good time. The tour will stop at the following locations:

Black Georgetown
Carter G. Woodson House
Embassy Row
Black Broadway
Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial
Ledroit Park
Phylis Wheatley YWCA

Excursion 4--Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture:  The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive cultural destination devoted exclusively to exploring, documenting and showcasing the African American story and its impact on American and world history. 

 

To memorialize this historic event, you can choose to join the Family Legacy Circle. Recognition will be given to all contributors with special recognition at the Purpose Circle and Founders Circle Levels. See attached 85th Founders Legacy for more information on how your family will be remembered. You can join during registration or anytime prior to January 15, 2023 by going to Family Legacy Contribution

Each member is asked to contribute a minimum of $8.50 for the 85th Founders' Day Community Service Project. Chapters may also send a contribution on behalf of the chapter members. The donation can be made on the registration site under Community Service or by going to
