Sheila Hyland is passionate about helping individuals find their voice, enhance their professional development skills, and hone their messaging in a world where they are constantly under the microscope. She founded FosterHyland & Associates in 2006, an agency specializing in executive coaching, media & crisis communications and presentation/speaker coaching. Hyland and her colleagues have coached more than 2500 individuals in the corporate, academic, online, and nonprofit entities. Ms. Hyland is certified as a leadership and executive coach through the International Coaching Federation.

Prior to that, Hyland spent more than 20 years as an award-winning TV news anchor, reporter, and managing editor for major network affiliates, including Pittsburgh’s WTAE-TV and Fox 53.

Hyland has interviewed many notable figures including Presidents, lawmakers, Nobel Peace Prize winners, authors, and celebrities. She has extensive live shot and “breaking news” experience. Throughout her broadcasting career, she reported on a wide range of high-profile stories, both locally and nationally. For several years, Ms. Hyland also served as the regional and national host of Comcast Newsmakers. Following that, she joined the “Unfiltered” podcast as a co-host with Pittsburgh radio personalities Larry Richert and Jim Krenn.

Hyland is a founding board member of Pittsburgh Children’s Advocacy Center. She also helped to spearhead operations at Luminari, inc., a nonprofit organization focusing on educational programs for teenagers. Hyland previously served as co-chair for the annual NACD Future of Board Leadership symposium. She is a longtime member of Pittsburgh Professional Women and is a former member of the Executive Women’s Council of greater Pittsburgh and Inspired Women. Hyland frequently lends her talents as a speaker, emcee, and volunteer for many organizations.
