Perkins graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in Business.
Upon returning to Middle TN it was then that she found herself coming full circle to embracing what she continuously tried to run from. She accepted her call to the ministry. She began her ministry upon admissions into the first-year study at the 149th session of the Tennessee Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Rev. Perkins went on to pursue her studies and completed her Master of Divinity degree from the historical Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, OH. Upon receiving her Masters of Divinity degree, she was formally ordained Itinerate Elder by Jeffery Leath, Presiding Prelate of the 13th Episcopal District of the AME Church.
She now works diligently as a part of the Greater Bethel AME Church’s ministerial staff and is the coordinator of Children’s church. Aside from her ministerial duties, Rev. Perkins is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority where she serves as chaplain and serves as her Chapter’s delegate with the National Pan Hellenic Council. She currently works for Phillips as a Senior Contract Proposal Specialist. In her spare time, she adores spending time with the youth at Greater Bethel and her four godchildren.
