Sheena Allen is the founder and CEO of CapWay, Inc., a financial technology company with the core product of digital banking services. The startup offers innovative products designed to create equal financial access and opportunities for all. Founder of CapWay at 27, Sheena is one of the youngest female founders to own and operate a neobank.
Before starting CapWay, Allen successfully created and ran Sheena Allen Apps. The photo- focused mobile app startup included Words on Pics that allowed text overlay on photos, cloning app Dubblen, and giant square photo splitter, PicSlit. Sheena started Sheena Allen Apps during her senior year of college and bootstrapped the startup to generate millions of app downloads.
In 2016, Allen made her premiere in She Started It, a documentary film that follows five women around on their startup journey. In 2017, she released her first print book, The Starting Guide, about her early tech journey, being a non-technical founder, and business 101 tips she learned as a young entrepreneur.
Allen has been featured in various publications, including Inc. Magazine and ESSENCE. She is a 2018 Business Insider Under 30 Innovator, member of the 2019 class of Forbes 30 Under 30 and Inc. Magazine 30 Under 30, and the 2019 Inc. Female Founders 100 list.
A Terry, Mississippi native, Allen graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology (B.S.) and Film (B.A.). She currently lives in Atlanta.
