Speaker Bio
Brown, a member of the Columbus, GA Chapter for more than 15 years, has spent the majority of her professional and personal life supporting and advocating for the youth in the community as an educator, servant leader, small business managing partner, and philanthropist. Prior to her tenure as National President, she served as the 2017-2019 Regional Director of the Southeastern Region, 2015-2017 Southeastern Regional Secretary, Regional Nominating Committee member for two terms, and as Regional Chair of Rules and Regulations. She also served as Chapter President of the Columbus, GA (5-Star) Chapter where she was awarded Southeastern Region “Chapter President of the Year” at the
29th Biennial Mothers’ Regional Conference. In addition, she served as Chapter Vice-President as well as held several other roles within the Columbus, GA Chapter.

National President Brown is a graduate of Spelman College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She also received a Master of Education Degree in Social Science Education from the University of Georgia. Her affiliations include being a member of The Links, Incorporated, Columbus, GA Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley, Auxiliary to the Columbus Fort Benning Medical Society, Brookstone School Parent Association Executive Board, Emanuel Preparatory School Board, and the Women’s Giving Circle for the Boys and Girls Club of the Chattahoochee Valley.

A native of Thomaston, GA, Brown resides with her family in Columbus, GA. She is married to Dr. Darius K. Brown, Sr., and they are the parents of two children —Jordan Janay Brown, a sophomore at Spelman, and Darius Brown, Jr., a rising high school senior.
