Caleb Colossus is a Stone Mountain native and a 2013 graduate of Chamblee High School. He initially attended Presbyterian College where he played Division 1 football; Caleb later transferred to the University of West Georgia where he graduated in 2018. For Caleb, rapping was hobby turned passion and he also knew that he no interest in diving into corporate America. He recorded his first his first song early in 2018, "Good Day” and following that, a few of his friends saw a post on instagram from Cardi B and Chance the Rapper calling for audition tapes for an upcoming rap competition show on Netflix. They all were sending them to Caleb telling him to enter. He kept brushing it off. At this point, fairly new to really being an artist, Caleb questioned his talent. Eventually, Caleb threw together an audition tape and sent it in. At this point of Caleb's life, he couldn't find a corporate job due to "lack of experience" (the typical but far-fetched response a lot of college graduates hear). Caleb was working at the State Farm Arena as a “guest experience smile maker” and a waiter at a local restaurant. Caleb remembers working a Tory Lanez concert and thinking to himself "that will be me one day!" One day on his way home from work, Caleb got a random call from a Los Angeles number. It was a producer from Netflix giving him directions on where to meet him. Caleb was selected to compete on Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow Hip Hop competition. Throughout the competition Caleb was able to put his full skill set on display. During the show he had the opportunity to perform in front of the like of Killer Mike, Big Boi, as well as Cardi B, Chance the Rapper and TI. He also had a full circle moment when he was fortunate enough to share the stage with Tory Lanez while performing a remix to the single “Talk to Me.” Caleb finished R+F in 5th place as a semi-finalist. Following the show he released his debut EP “When Paint Smears.”
