Nominating Rules for Area Conferences

  1. A nominee from the floor for an elected Area Office or Area Position must meet the following qualifications:
    1. Be active members at the time of election
    2. Have been a Link for at least five (5) years
    3. Have attended at least two (2) Area Conferences excluding the Area Conference at which the election takes place, and one (1) National Assembly within the preceding five (5) years
    4. Reside physically in the locality that the Area serves; and
    5. Have Chapter endorsement.

 

  1. A nominee from the floor must have chapter endorsement.  The chapter president’s or chapter delegate/designee signature denotes that the chapter’s executive committee endorsement is reflected in its official minutes.

 

  1. A nominee from the floor, who meets the qualifications for the office or position she is seeking, must electronically submit a completed Profile of Candidate for Nomination form

 

  1. Based on the requirement that a candidate is member of the chapter in their locality, Area Nominating Committee must verify Proof of Residence based on Verification of Residency Standards by providing the following proof of residence:
    1. Government-issued photo ID
    2. Utility bill
    3. A photograph of Voter ID
    4. Driver’s license

 

  1. A nominee from the floor shall be required to pay a $50.00 non-refundable administrative fee electronically for administrative costs at the time the Profile of Candidate for Nomination form is submitted.

 

  1. A Link candidate previously not certified as a candidate for non-payment of  $50.00 administrative fee, or did not obtain chapter endorsement may run as a nominee from the floor for an Area Office or Area Position during the 2019 Area election.

 

  1. A Link candidate previously not certified as a candidate for not being a Link member for at least five (5) years; have not attended at least two (2) Area Conferences excluding the Area Conference at which the election takes place, and one (1) National Assembly within the preceding five (5) years; and /or does not reside physically in the locality that the Area serves may not run as a nominee from the floor for an Area Office or Area Position during the 2019 Area election.
 
     8.  A Link candidate previously disqualified as a candidate may not run as a nominee from the floor for an Area                  Office or Area Position during the 2019 elections.
