Pre-school education is an important building block for children ages 2-5. In the Orlando area, some children are not getting the support that they need. The Parramore and Tangelo Park communities are fully engaged in battling crime, drugs and creating opportunities for all who live there. To that end, we will lend a much-needed helping hand to the area’s youngest residents. The Southern Area of The Links, Incorporated will provide about 1200 educational kits for both classroom and home use. The kits will focus on language skills, phonic awareness, writing and math development for preschoolers ages 2-5. The children will receive items like flash cards, puzzles, timers, books and workbooks. With materials available in the classroom and sent home with students, these important learning skills will be reinforced.
Members are asked to come to a designated area at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel and assemble provided items into the educational kits. These items will be given to children at the Rosen Parramore Pre-School, built by our host hotel’s owner, Harris Rosen and Tangelo Park School. The remaining kits will be distributed to local preschools and daycare facilities.
Additional items may be collected, assembled and distributed to the Parramore and Tangelo Park children, as determined by the Orlando Cluster and school administrators.
