Welcome to Orlando! We are pleased and honored to have you as our guests in The City Beautiful for the 45th Southern Area Conference of The Links, Incorporated. Members of the Central Florida Cluster—Altamonte Springs, Bradenton/Sarasota, Brevard, Daytona, Orlando, St. Petersburg and Tampa Chapters have worked diligently to make sure that this event is as enjoyable as it is informative.
Orlando is favored destination for families all over the world. Much more than outstanding theme parks, we offer the best in shopping, museums, arts and entertainment. Your taste buds will be tempted by a variety of restaurants ranging from those opened by world famous chefs to those run by local favorites. Golfers enjoy some of the best courses in the world here. Shopping options span haute couture to premium outlets. As well, Central Florida has a rich history. It is the location of Eatonville, the first incorporated town for African Americans in the United States and home of renowned author Zora Neale Hurston. Another important site, the Wells’Built Museum, showcases even more elements of this city’s rich African American history.
We also know that this Southern Area Conference will make history of its own. An estimated 1400 members will travel here to be inspired, educated and empowered to transform the communities we provide service to in seven states and The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Chapter officers and chairs will receive important training to make them more effective in their positions. Organizational business sessions and leadership elections will take place. We will rekindle old relationships, make new friends and build lasting personal and professional networks. This fabulous mix of business and pleasure will take place at the luxurious Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel. Its comfortable rooms, numerous restaurants and beautiful grounds are the perfect backdrop for our gathering.
We anxiously await your arrival, knowing you will make our city even more beautiful. Make plans to engage in every aspect of this well-planned 45th Southern Area Conference. Once our business is complete, make time to get out, have fun and fellowship with other Link Sisters. We look forward to seeing you, loving on you and welcoming you to our hometown.
Sincerely,
Monica Riley
