By day, Sharon Cooper works as an HR Manager at Facebook. Sharon is also one of four surviving sisters of Sandra Bland. She's become a social justice
advocate on behalf of her sister and victims in the Black community who have died in police custody/at the hands of police due to brutal encounters.
Recognized by Hello Beautiful as a Woman to Know, Sharon travels the country speaking about policies that serve as barriers to the progression of communities of color and has appeared on CNN, Nightline, MSNBC & The View as well as an opinion contributor in USA Today, Cosmopolitan and Black Enterprise. She’s partnered with the Congressional Caucus on Black Women & Girls to make Black women and girls a priority in the policy debates that aim to reverse the stain of racism, sexism and classism. Over the years, Cooper and her family have kept Sandra Bland’s message alive through the NAACP Image awardwinning HBO documentary, Say Her Name: The Life and Death of Sandra Bland.
