Speaker Bio
Antoine Gregory is a fashion stylist and consultant based in New York. Gregory is a graduate from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology with a background in fashion and art history. After graduating from FIT, where he was one of very few Black students, Gregory held corporate positions at multiple luxury fashion houses where he was often the only Black employee. Not seeing himself mirrored in the companies he worked for he used fashion styling to give agency to the stories he wanted to tell. He has written for publications such as Essence and is a contributor for SHOWstudio.

His ability to tell Black stories through fashion and dedication to the preservation and documentation of Black fashion led him to found Black Fashion Fair; a conceptual retail, educational, and cultural experience aimed toward the discovery and furtherance of Black designers. Through fashion editorial and film, Black Fashion Fair highlights Black designers in spaces they have historically and largely been absent from.

Known for his commentary on fashion and reclaiming Black fashion history though his social media, Gregory grew a large Twitter following. There, he advocated for Black designers while also telling their stories. He also used Twitter as a medium to add context to the influence of Black culture on trends in fashion.

Antoine Gregory has long been an advocate for diversity in the fashion industry and continues to champion change and equity for Black designers. He has worked on projects for Pyér Moss, Telfar, and Theophilio and continues to collaborate with emerging designers of colour.
