Temple Lester is the gifted, award-winning 13-year old creator of “STEM Swag Box.” The STEM Swag Box was created by Temple to make STEM-education fun! Her science kit is exploding with hands-on experiments. She expressed an interest in science at a very early age. In 3rd grade, she launched www.JustTemple.com, a website dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Technology (STEM). Her goal is to encourage more of her peers to take an interest in science. Temple provides free workshops, classes and motivational talks to get youth involved in STEM. Temple’s workshops are full of fun activities and exciting science experiments. Through volunteerism and social media, she has exposed over 10,000 people to STEM!
Temple has received many awards and honors. She was featured in Atlanta Intown Paper, spotlighting the 11th annual 20 Under 20 honorees. DeKalb Chamber of Commerce honored her as its 2019 Youth Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2017, she was the Georgia Science Teachers Association (GSTA) STEM-Talk winner. The Corporate Volunteer Council (Atlanta) recognized Temple’s leadership and innovation by presenting her with the prestigious 2019 Carol D. Reiser Youth Service Award. Temple has delivered keynote speeches for numerous schools and organizations including Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. She has been on Aspire TV, V103, iHeart Radio, WXIA, CW69, and several other publications.
